Nací en Málaga, y tenía 17 años cuando comenzó el Concilio Vaticano II. Mis estudios con la Congregación Salesiana me llevaron primero a Puerto Rico, luego a la República Dominicana y, finalmente, a Italia. Sin embargo, la ordenación sacerdotal la recibí como sacerdote secular, y durante unos años ejercí el ministerio en la parroquia de San Atanasio, en el barrio de Tetuán, de Madrid.

En 1981 empecé a trabajar en un gran grupo editorial, en el que desarrollé distintas responsabilidades, y con el cual también tuve ocasión de trabajar con una compañía francesa y, más tarde, durante seis años, viviendo en Italia. En este grupo me acabo de jubilar, el 17 de octubre.
